Job Summary

The Tooling NDT Technician I will be responsible for inventorying, inspecting, and testing of specific product line tools.  Will also clean, and train on equipment diagnostics for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment and specialized tools.  Responsible for working with Intermediate or Advanced level technicians to support timely completion of assigned project requests.  Develop expertise on how to update project schedules and assign equipment as appropriate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain housekeeping of assigned NDT workstation and warehouse areas to ensure compliance with local safety standards
  • Follow all safety guidelines
  • Develop systematic approaches to effectively identify NDT equipment problems
  • Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels for equipment and spare parts
  • Assist Level II and Level III technicians with timely assembly of specialized equipment kits and meet equipment center schedule requirements and shipment deadlines
  • Read and understand documented equipment center procedures and manuals
  • Inspect, test, and diagnose NDT equipment
  • Determining the proper tools and equipment necessary to complete a job
  • Ensure kits are shipped with no quality issues (missing parts, expired calibrations, or non-working parts)
  • Review returned equipment to ensure all items are accounted for as outlined in inventory system
  • Clean, reorganize, and test all returned kits via visual and functional inspections to ensure all equipment is in working condition
  • Utilize equipment software systems to record inspections, restock and if applicable assign kits to specific jobs
  • Follow standard maintenance protocol to ensure compliance is always met
  • Complete required, annual safety training
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • Travel may be required

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in inspection of complex equipment or electrical/mechanical tool repair
  • Moderate computer knowledge which includes but not limited to the following: understands operating systems; understands how to use flash drives and memory cards; knows how to insert hyperlinks and tables on word processing applications; conduct complex sorting, applying filters, and using different views on spreadsheets and database
  • Strong team player attitude; maintain flexibility within the changing business priorities
  • Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
  • English Proficiency Required
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and equipment
  • Basic electronic skills - understanding electrical theory (voltage, current, resistance, etc.)
  • Basic mechanical knowledge (torque values, hardware sizing, assembly/disassembly processes)

 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Associates Degree
  • Knowledge of electronics, including troubleshooting to the component level of Analog and Digital systems
  • Experience in the maintenance of non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment or the use of NDT equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot to determine causes of operating issues
  • Ability to conduct tests and inspect products or processes and evaluate the quality of repairs

Physical Requirements (EU Excluded)

  • Must be able to see and move throughout warehouse to resolve work problems and facilitate processes; repetitive motion activities may be involved.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight up to 40 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits:
The hourly wage range for this position is $21.63 to $35.67.  Employees may be eligible for overtime.  FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and Wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program.  Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.
